It’s hard to have a conversation about technology, enterprise software, and data without the word ‘cloud’ popping up at the beginning, the end, and sprinkled throughout for good measure. Everyone likes the idea of data and content being accessible remotely and shared in an idyllic server that is not taking up space in your office.

…Until something unfortunate happens. When that data’s security is corrupted and falls into the wrong hands, it can wreak havoc on an organization. Lately I’ve noticed a marked change in the CIO’s approach to cloud technology and cloud data storage. Even though CIOs love that cloud technology connects their teams and makes information more readily available, there’s some information that is just too sensitive to leave the room. The overall sentiment that I’m picking up on is that a variety of organizations are bucking the trend and are instead reverting to on-premises data storage and security. When it comes to sensitive grid information or proprietary operations data, technical teams want to make sure that their data can’t be lost or stolen.

There are two ends of the spectrum when it comes to visualization platforms and their infrastructure: on one hand you have low-cost web-based solutions that can be accessed from anywhere and are the market floor in terms of price. On the other you have tremendously expensive legacy LED video wall providers like Barco, Christie, and RGB Spectrum. These legacy providers have their own servers on-premises and are more secure against outside corruption. So we’re stuck in between a rock and a hard place: cheap and potentially vulnerable software, or expensive yet more secure software.

Ideally you would want the best of both worlds: you would want a visualization platform that is more cost effective than the legacy solutions, and much more secure than the web-based applications. That way you’re building a project under budget and making your network as secure as you need it to be.

And that’s where Hiperwall comes in. Hiperwall software works with any off-the-shelf hardware that your company prefers to work with. This makes our solution much less expensive than legacy providers with proprietary hardware. Our software also operates on its own network. It’s IP based and on its own physical switch or VLAN, so the network doesn’t have to communicate with the outside world if you don’t want it to. This means that it’s surprisingly affordable to scale your installation over time, and that scalability doesn’t come with any more security concerns as your operation grows and you visualize more and more data.

Hiperwall, Inc. was developed to bring video walls to the mainstream by lowering costs and simplifying installations through our 100% software-driven solution. Hiperwall software lets you create and deliver bold and dynamic high-resolution content with no specialized hardware, training or skills required. Display any type of content on a centralized platform for enhanced decision making and collaboration.
