Hiperwall Announces New Version 3.1 Software Enables Command & Control Professionals to Better Manag

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - IRVINE, CALIFORNIA // Oct. 31, 2013 - Hiperwall, developers of next generation video wall and distributed visualization systems, announced today the general availability of Hiperwall v3.1 software, which delivers more comprehensive KVM capabilities and significantly expands the company’s leadership position in the Command & Control space.

“Effective control room video wall operation requires the ability to manage both the control system and local and worldwide data feeds. Our enhanced and embedded KVM feature empowers control room operators with more functionality to satisfy these requirements from any work location,” said Hiperwall CEO Jeff Greenberg.

Greenberg said the expanded KVM capabilities in Hiperwall v3.1 were developed specifically for the Command & Control sector, where Hiperwall is a recognized leader in delivering innovative software-based solutions.

“Hiperwall v3.1 is ideally suited for multiple Command & Control applications such as law enforcement, emergency operation centers, network operation centers, utilities, transportation, manufacturing and process control, security & surveillance and trading floors-essentially any environment where the ability to view live information from disparate sources improves real-time decision making,” Greenberg said.

Whereas previous versions of the Hiperwall embedded KVM could only be operated from the Primary Control workstation, Greenberg explained that Hiperwall v3.1’s embedded KVM can now be operated from both the Primary and Secondary Controls. This expanded KVM functionality allows an unlimited number of operators to interact simultaneously with local and remote content feeds.

“Since the Secondary Control Node can be operated from remote locations, the KVM function is also now available to operators virtually anywhere in the world,” said Greenberg.

Greenberg also said the previous version of the Hiperwall embedded KVM was limited to controlling Hiperwall Screen Sender feeds, which has been expanded in v3.1.

“The new 3.1 KVM function allows our users to control Hiperwall Streamer Display Captures,” Greenberg said. “This is particularly valuable for surveillance and security applications, where the KVM function can be used to select camera views from third party Video Management Systems and can even be used to control pan/tilt/zoom camera operations-all while streaming the video at 30 frames per second. This makes it easier to monitor activities and events with high quality video, giving our Resellers a better product to sell and our End Users a superior video wall experience.”

In addition to the KVM enhancements for Command & Control, Hiperwall v3.1 includes a variety of additional improvements that benefit all of the company’s targets markets – Command & Control, Digital Signage, Lobbies & Showrooms, Entertainment and Education. These enhancements include:

  • An expanded, built-in diagnostics capability that makes it easier for Resellers and End Users to identify and correct configuration issues that impact system performance.
  • A Streamer Display Capture function that now supports arbitrary window sizes and positions, making it possible to capture only portions of the screen versus the entire screen.
  • A new Hardware Control function that provides the ability to turn on, turn off, restart, standby or sleep any display or user-defined logical wall in the Hiperwall system.

Hiperwall v3.1 software is available for existing customers who have current Hiperwall subscriptions and to new customers through Hiperwall’s global network of authorized resellers.
